A Major Scale fire broke out in landmark multi story building on Park Street in Kolkata.

According to the fire department, Forty fire tenders were battling to contain the blazing fire. Some of the people are also feared dead and left around 12 injured.

Scores of people were trapped and at least 12 injured when a raging fire broke out in a landmark multi-storied building in the heart of Kolkata's buzzing Park Street on Tuesday afternoon. Some people are also feared killed.

Joint Commissioner of Police Jawed Shamin said, Forty fire tenders have been mobilised till now. The quick response team is also working.

This Blazing Fire has also impacted the traffic at heavily crowded Park Street which made it difficult for the fire tenders to access the building

One of the witness said that People were desperately trying to get out of the building and in the process one person was seriously injured when he jumped from one of the higher floors.

The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained.

Lets hope this fire gets extinguished as soon as possible as the fire department is working tirelessly to get rid of this Blazing Fire.

Shri A K Walia Delhi State Government finance minister will present Delhi Budget 2010 - 2011 today.

As there has been a news for a while that weakest department of delhi are Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). Financial status of these 2 department are touch low, hence the budget could see an announcement of increase in water and transport tariff.

To strengthen its coffers, the government will also have the option of withdrawing the Rs 40 subsidy per cylinder being given to domestic consumers but officials said the possibility is very remote.

Walia is likely to increase taxes on luxury goods such as designer clothes, high-end mobile phones, pens and watches and may even consider increasing road taxes.

Lets jus hope for the best that whatever comes to our way should be good and do not empty our already emptied pockets.

The Delhi Cabinet has provided a great gift almost at the start of the year where they have approved the increase of minimum wages in delhi by 33%. In this New wages in Delhi, an unskilled worker will now get Rs 5,272 per month, a semi-skilled workers will get Rs 5,850 per month and skilled workers will be getting Rs 6,448 per month.

Daily wages in Delhi of clerical and non-technical staff will also see an hike. In case of workers who are graduates and above, wages per month is Rs 7,020 which means Rs 270 per day. According to the New wages, minimum wages for unskilled labour is Rs 203 per day. For semi-skilled workers Rs 225 per day and for skilled workers Rs 248 per day.

These new wages in New Delhi will be effective from 1st February, 2010 which why I said almost at the start of the year.

And read this, After this approval of increasing the minimum wages by 33% Delhi is now the highest payer in India in terms minimum wages.

Union Cabinet on Thursday, 4th March 2010 had give the great relief to provaye sector employees by providing its consent to increase the gratuity limit from Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs10 lakh. The gratuity limit of the Central government employees have already been raised by the Sixth Pay Commission recommendation.

This decision has brought the same rights to private sector employees as the government employees in terms of gratuity. A raise in the gratuity limit at the time of retirement came following repeated appeals by the employees' groups.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved a proposal of India Infrastructure Development Fund Ltd (Mauritius) to raise contributions from international investors and invest in the India Infrastructure Development Fund. The proposal, earlier approved by the FIPB, will result in FDI exceeding Rs 750 crore.

Finally, I guess, Union Cabinet is also thinking about the private sector employees as courtsey them private sector companies awarding annual statuary bonuses to their employees and now the increased the gratuity benefits.
